Hailing from Dorchester, Massachusetts, and a diehard New England Patriots fan, Attorney Ebette Fortune is proud of her multicultural roots. Ebette graduated from Boston College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After graduation, she served her community as a City Year Americorps member teaching special education students in the Boston metro area. After her service term ended with City Year she remained with the organization as a Development Associate and became an integral part of the proposal writing and fundraising efforts that would help to establish a City Year New York chapter of which she is a founding member. Ebette continued to focus on a career in Special Education, completing 3 years towards her Masters of Science in Education at Brooklyn College before pivoting into law. Ebette graduated from City University of New York (CUNY) Law school in 2010 and began her career as a public defender. She was the class of 2010 Graduation Speaker and the recipient of the Association of Black Women Attorneys (ABWA) scholarship in 2009.
Prior to relocating to St.Thomas and where she joined the LSVI team in February 2021, Ebette served as a trial attorney for 10 years at The Legal Aid Society.
