Private Attorney Involvement

The Private Attorney Involvement (PAI) program is a joint effort between private attorneys  and Legal Services of the Virgin Islands, Inc. (LSVI) to help fill the gap in providing free civil legal services to low-income residents.  The PAI program is funded through a grant that compensates these private attorneys at a reduced fee for their assistance to the LSVI eligible clients. There are many indigent persons in the service area covering St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John who will be eligible for legal assistance via the PAI program.

In addition, we are aiming to expand our pro bono program and involvement.  We would like to invite attorneys licensed in the Virgin Islands, who desire to give back to the community, to contact us and provide free, high-quality assistance to indigent clients of the Virgin Islands and make a lasting impact with the people of the Virgin Islands and the world!

If you are a private attorney and wish to be a part of the PAI program or become a pro bono attorney with LSVI, please e-mail Judy Phillip for more information at or Attorney Shelby King Gaddy at
