Tina Gillespie La Borde
Tina Gillespie La Borde, Esq. is a graduate of NC State University (Magna Cum Laude) and UNC School of Law. A native of North Carolina, she moved to St. Thomas in 2005 to pursue a work opportunity with Legal Services of the Virgin Islands as a domestic violence attorney under a Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) grant. She is now the managing attorney for the St. Thomas office of LSVI overseeing the administration of equal access to justice. She remains active as a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council (DVSAC) Board Member and member of the DVSAC Criminal Justice Committee. She has coordinated Domestic Violence training for first responder law enforcement officers including the Virgin Islands Police Department, Bureau of Corrections, Court Marshals and other auxiliary law enforcement officers throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Prior to commencing work with Legal Services of the Virgin Islands, Attorney La Borde interned with the Civil Rights Law Firm, Ferguson, Stein & Chambers in Charlotte, NC, Legal Aid of NC in Charlotte, NC and worked as an associate practicing labor law at the Law Office of Lee Laskody in Graham, NC. She is licensed to practice law in the U.S. Virgin Islands, North Carolina, the District Court of the Virgin Islands, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
Attorney La Borde’s passion lies with meeting the needs of the community through outreach services coupled with providing high quality representation in the courtroom, mediations, settlement conferences, and overall legal counseling. Attorney La Borde is married to Edward La Borde, Jr. and they have one daughter, Louise. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and music entertainment.
